Itz'at STEAM Academy Program

The school year at Itz'at STEAM Academy is divided into four equal learning cycles. Each theme is connected to a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal such as sustainable cities and communities and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

The Program

FIRST AND SECOND FORM TIMETABLE BLOCKS ​

All students take a seminar every learning cycle.  These seminars occur in small groups. They give students the chance to explore a wide range of topics.

Career Pathways & Internships

In third form, students will take seminars to help them choose and prepare for their fourth form career pathway and internship. The school’s career pathways education will focus on high demand technology-focused careers.

CSEC Prep

All students should be able to sit at least eight CSEC examinations including English, Math, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Information Technology, PE and Sports, and Human Social Biology.  Depending on their career pathway, students may also be prepared for examinations such as Food and Nutrition, Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Technical Drawing. 

Senior Capstone Project

Fourth form is a time for outward focus as students prepare for the next phase of their lives. Each student will design and execute a senior capstone project of their choosing. This project should engage them in solving a real problem that exists in their home community.
